Course Description
This course presents a wide range of authentic reading materials including newspapers, journals, reviews and academic texts in order to comprehend contrasting viewpoints, to predict and identify main ideas and to decode suprasentential clues. It also aims to equip students with intensive and extensive reading habits. Critical thinking skills such as synthesizing information or analyzing a problem as well as reacting on the basis of evaluation are fostered. Understanding different aspects of reading using original reading pieces such as newspapers, magazines, reviews and academic writings; acquiring high-level reading skills such as interpersonal and predicting skills and the main idea of the text, reaching the main idea and using semantic cues between words; acquiring the habit of reading in and out of class; the development of critical thinking skills based on the synthesis, analysis and evaluation of knowledge.

- P01 1- make use of their professional training in language teaching and achieve effective classroom management,
