Course Description

In Transportation Modeling and Planning course, students will learn transportation demand theory. Students will be introduced to classical approach to transportation planning and modeling: trip generation, trip distribution, modal split and traffic assignment techniques and models. Transportation Modeling and Planning course covers Direct-demand models, Survey methods, Quick-response methods, Disaggregate travel demand modeling and Freight demand and car-ownership modeling. Students will also be introduced to advanced methods in planning. Introduction to transportation planning software’s will be discussed in Transportation Modeling and Planning course. Term Project and group works will be organized to increase the effectiveness of Transportation Modeling and Planning course.
