Course Description

This course is the continuation of GERM101 and it is designed for students with a basic German knowledge. The aim of this course is to motivate students to increase their interest in the German language to achieve language skills which are listening, reading, speaking and writing. The course also aims to enable students to acquire necessary vocabulary, grammatical structures, to understand the gist of what is being said and to make sense of connected speech at basic levels. It further provides the opportunity for students to achieve basic reading, which is important in helping to build vocabulary and to consolidate grammar, and conversational skills. The required basic grammar and vocabulary for students will be developed through exercising everyday situations in various contexts and using new vocabulary in personalized contexts.

Course outcomes

  1. 01 1- be able to process the modal verbs, können and wollen and apply the conjugation of these verbs according to the personal pronouns.
  2. 02 2- be able to process the past tense and integrate it into their personal lives based on class activities.
  3. 03 3-be able to predict missing vocabulary in the provided context.
  4. 04 4- be able to categorise the verbs belonging to accusative case .
  5. 05 5- be able to classify the definite and the indefinite articles according to given contexts.. .
  6. 06 SOLO AVERAGE=[(3+4)/2+(3+5)/2+5+4+3]/5=3,9
