Course Description

The aim of epidemiology courses is to facilitate students' understanding of basic epidemiological principles and research methods in the field of dentistry. Epidemiological studies conducted in the field of dentistry determine not only the prevalence and incidence of the disease, but also the extent and severity of the disease. Epidemiological studies on dental diseases are very important in the professional field. Good knowledge of research methods, scientific use as well as scientific article reviews contribute to professional progress. Research methods should be well known in order to measure the benefit of preventive healthcare, to know the epidemiological profile of oral diseases and the risk factors common to other chronic diseases. Evaluation of epidemiological data is important for planning in the field of dentistry.
