Course Description

This course provides comprehensive treatment of current trends and management issues associated with information systems within organizations. The course is focused on developing an intellectual framework that will allow leaders of organizations to critically assess existing IS infrastructures and emerging technologies as well as how these enabling technologies might affect organizational strategy. After a successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand the importance of information systems in an organization, and the role they play in the various functional areas of a business, identify the importance of aligning the information systems strategy with the overall organizational strategy, and ensuring the information technology assets which support the business activities and objectives.
