Course Description
Within the scope of this course; preventive mental health care practices are discussed in the context of risk factors and protective/preventive interventions, taking into account the possible negative effects of contemporary life style and changing social conditions on individuals. In this context, the course deals with the definition, history and general framework of preventive mental health services, national and international evidence-based practices. The course also examines the theoretical foundations of trauma, crisis intervention, psychological first aid, preventive/protective mental health services, its programs and program development. The students taking the course will enrich the content by preparing various presentations on the topics of the course. Students will be expected to prepare an intervention program/protocol on the common topics to be selected.
