Course Description

In this course, students will be provided with basic information about group psychotherapy together with practical application. It is aimed to introduce group therapy techniques. It is aimed to learn the healing properties of the group, the points to be considered during group creation and to make inferences about how development groups are formed. Ethical principles in group therapy and dynamics of group therapy will be discussed. It will be ensured that they have information about the advantages and limitations over individual therapy and about what group therapy practices are according to different theories. At the end of this course, students will learn the role of the group therapist, the positive effects, possible problems and different forms of application.
