Course Description

The course would cover water quality management and many different types of methods for the assessment of surface water quality, analyzing the linkage between pollution sources and surface water quality, and the development of pollution control strategies. It explains current approaches to water quality protection and enhancement and reviews the role of engineered treatment processes in water quality management. Specific topics covered in the course include identification of sources and types of water pollution, statutory and regulatory approaches to water quality management, water quality standards and criteria, water supply and wastewater treatment processes and point and non-point source.
