Course Description

This course will cover computer applications relevant to hydraulic engineering problems. Examples and problems such as: general flow characteristics, unsteady flow, floods, concepts on wave, computing water surface profiles, hydrologic routing methods, flood plain hydraulics and water distribution systems will be solved using software packages. Before each example, a brief theoretical basis related to the topic will be discussed. The main aim is to develop computer skills and be able to simply use different computer applicatıons. Depending on the required computations and parameters software packages such as and not limited to: HEC-RAS, Win-Des, HCalc, ISIS will be used.
