Course Description
The main aim of the course is to provide the students with a basic understanding of why accounting practices differ in different countries. The course seeks to get the students acquainted with the various aspects of harmonization for diverse accounting procedures of different countries in order to make the students understand how multinational companies operating internationally cope with the accounting differences in countries across which they operate. In this course, international financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation, and accounting information systems are the major topics covered. The standards, guidelines, and rules of accounting, auditing, and taxation issued by supranational organizations are also examined. The course overviews the broadly defined area of international accounting, by focusing on accounting-related issues of international business activities and foreign operations.
