Course Description
At this stage of research, students are expected to provide progress reports and also presenting their work which are the standard processes on all good doctoral programmes. These allow the Thesis Progress Committee (TPC) to provide feedback to help students with their rate of progress and to identify the particular needs of students. Students present literature review of work previously published by other researchers. It demonstrates that the students are aware of the published work in the chosen research area and has read the works of the main authors and has used this knowledge in the development of the research. Research questions, aims, objectives and hypotheses are presented. Research aims and objectives, and any operational hypotheses are stated clearly with the overall outcomes of the research work. The objectives are the individual actions necessary to achieve the aims.
