Ders Açıklaması
Bu ders, grafik tasarım tarihi boyunca gelişmiş önemli olaylar ve belli başlı hareketler ile tasarımcılara odaklanır. Tarihi perspektiften çağdaş grafik tasarımın gelişimini ve kültür ile olan etkileşimini konu edinir. Öğrenciler 1964’de Ken Garland’ın manifestosundan sonra, teknolojiyle de birlikte grafik tasarımda nelerin ansıl gelişip değiştiğini öğrenirler. Bu derste öğrenilen tarihsel tarzlar, hareketler, insanlar ve olaylar öğrencinin kendi tasarımlarını daha yaratıcı, uygun ve entelektüel çözümlerle örebilmeleri için uygun bir zemin hazırlar. Böylece öğrenciler tasarım probemlerine getirdikleri yaklaşımlarda her zamana çağdaş grafik tasarım tarihinden öğrendikleri noktalardan yararlanabilirler. Bu ders aynı zamanda tasarımı bir meslek olarak araştırır, grafik tasarımcılar için çok önemli kaynaklar içerir.
